The Science Behind Targeting your Audience (and why it DOESN’T work)

70% of marketers never reach their target audience with their message.

Many marketers feel that doing a simple Google search and recording some simple data from the internet will allow them to run their marketing campaigns with success.

This thinking can be kind of risky. It’s basically saying, I am just going to throw this information out there around this group of people who look nice and hope that they will accept what I am giving them.

This could not be further from the truth. Have you ever watched a commercial on television and thought they are talking directly to me! This doesn’t happen by chance. Those marketers have discovered something that only the best marketers know, they truly UNDERSTAND their audience.

Understanding is the key. Really know their likes, dislikes, and tendencies on a deeper level. A level that goes beyond just gathering some preliminary details.

How do you do this, you may ask? The best way is to simply ask them. Go where they go, observe what they do, understand how they feel and give them the answers to remedy the problems that they run into.

 When you find their pain points that is when you can come in and show them how your product or service can answer this problem.

Personalize each of your campaigns based on analytics and don’t be afraid to pivot based on the problems that your customers face.

So, don’t waste any more time in irrelevant messages, become laser focused and see the difference that your campaigns can make with your audience.
